blogging mood

September 30, 2008 at 2:12 am (Uncategorized)

I just haven’t been in a blogging mood lately. Every night I think- Oh. I should make a post about that or that. Then I think-I will just talk with a few friends on facebook or answer a few emails. It is just too late by then. Oh well. Sorry for the lack of pictures and posts.

Here is the lastest summary. We have been busy but not over busy. Just a good busy. Still stressed about gas and trying to conserve. Have had a lot of good visits with good friends lately too. Always nice.

Nate has been enjoying playing with his sweet friend Ava across the street. So thankful for great neighbors!

Gas shortage?!

September 22, 2008 at 1:50 am (Uncategorized)

How crazy to think we could run out of gas. What would we do without gas? Our lifestyles could not function.

I think that this is only happening in the southeast right now and that people are just freaking out. They are waiting in long lines and filling up ALL of their cars. There is gas. There is just a little less and it is just coming slower.

I went Saturday to the grocery store and to get gas. I went to 7 (YES 7) gas stations before I could get gas. I had to fill up with half plus and half premium to get a full tank. After all that I was the last person at the pump to get gas. It was not really fun to turn around to the person waiting in line behind me tell them that there was no gas. It was not really fun to look at my receipt after that fill up either.

Looks like a week at home.

Braves night

September 12, 2008 at 12:06 am (Uncategorized)

We had a great night out this week at the Braves game. I really don’t think I have been in three years! It was so relaxing and fun. We almost didn’t go bc of the weather but glad we did bc it was a perfect night. It is a shame that no one was at the park bc it is such a great place but we are fair weather fans here in the ATL. This is only for the old school fans but who out there remembers Chief Knockahomma?

First cut!

September 11, 2008 at 3:27 am (Uncategorized)

Nate was getting some scrappy looking bangs so we knew it was time for a haircut. It is so blonde that  I didn’t even realize how thick it was getting too.

My sweet neighbor across the street cuts my hair so I asked her if she could give Nate a little trim bc I was not feeling so confident in my trimming skills. We went over and she had him all set up in the basement with cars to play with for distraction. She even gave him a big Tonka truck when she finished! What I thought was just a trimming of the bangs was an allover cut bc he had so much hair. He just looks so big with his newly cut hair.

A  mouthful of raisins but the final product…

Mr. Clean

September 7, 2008 at 1:38 am (Uncategorized)

Not sure where this came from but Nate loves to wipe things down with a rag, wash cloth, sock or whatever he can find. He is very particular sometimes about needing to clean something off. It really makes me laugh. The other day he was on a cleaning rampage so I took some pictures. I am not discouraging it bc I do love having a clean house!

What a beautiful night!

September 5, 2008 at 12:43 am (Uncategorized)

I don’t even have a picture to do it justice! We spent part of the night at the ball park watching Tyler play fall ball. I honestly wanted to be out there on the field myself. Nate loved every minute of it just laughing and clapping.

The temperature was perfect and the sun is starting to sit just a little lower. Nate and I rode home with the windows down and the sunroof open. It just makes you take a deep breath and makes me a little sentimental feeling too. I think it is the ball park that does it to me. I grew up playing softball and those are such sweet memories in my life. It really shaped so much of my life so it was neat see Nate there soaking it in.

Ahhh. Good night.

End of summer?

September 1, 2008 at 6:38 pm (Uncategorized)

Labor Day marks the official end of summer (which makes more sense in New England where kids don’t go back to school until after Labor Day) even though the temperature doesn’t fall for a few more weeks. It really did seemed like a turning point this weekend. There was the first Georgia game which is always a great catapult into fall and then our pool closed which clearly says summer is over. We had plans for this weekend that changed at the last minute but it turned into a fun and relaxing weekend despite our occasional moans of boredom.

It is exciting to look into the fall as we hang on to the the end of summer at least for a little while longer

What are your favorite things about fall or your favorite fall traditions?
