Beasley?
Not quite the real Beasley but we do love it! It freaks me out sometimes to walk around the corner and see this life sized boston terrier sitting so still.
Thank you Shoves:)
Is that my shadow?
Nate has been noticing shadows this week which has been so cute. He keeps playing peek a boo with his shadow on the wall in his room.
This is what happens…
when you don’t take an afternoon nap. He couldn’t even make it through dinner. Tyler and I were talking and realized that Nate got quiet. We looked over and saw this-
He was even snoring:)
The festivities
It has been a weekend (well, started on Thursday) of celebration for Nate’s 1st birthday! It has been so much fun with sweet family and friends that love him so much.
Thursday…
a special lunch with Shae Shae!

Friday (the bday) …
We woke up to the bday banner and banana pancakes. Then we went to celebrate with our friend Mack that shares the same bday. That night Aunt Catie came to celebrate with a dinner at 5 Guys bc she is a firm believer in the actual day. My camera was no where in sight for most of the day. What was I thinking?

Saturday…
The PARTY!! Nate did so great and played so hard. He rode around in his new wagon for most of his party entertainment when he wasn’t eating:) He of course didn’t know it was for him but loved the attention! I still can’t believe he is one!!! I love this sweet boy.

Happy 1st Nate!
One whole year! It has flown by and I want to just soak in every moment. He is such a joy. I love you Nateroo!!

Nate Eve
I stole this title from my friend KF when her little boy turned 1. It just stuck with me.
Anyway…
It is so crazy to think it has been year since being pregnant with Nate. Bear with me here folks. I am a little sentimental today.
It was like 300 degrees outside and I could barely walk the parking lot at work. My due date was the next day and I thought I couldn’t go on another day if he decided to come late. I was having contractions but had convinced myself that it was Braxton Hicks so that I didn’t get my hopes up. Tyler and I went to eat eggplant parm to get things moving. Well, I ate that and he of course ate the chicken parm. I remember us just staring at each other across the table in a stupor of “we have no idea what is about to happen”. We kept saying, ” We could go to the hospital tomorrow and come home with a baby. Our baby.” I did say that we were in a stupor.
Tyler just kept running all the scenarios of how we were going to get all the way to the hospital from the boonies of our house if I went into labor during rush hour. Bags were packed and in the car. They had been for weeks. I had a dr appt the next day and was hoping I wouldn’t even have to go.
What a crazy night. I remember I couldn’t sleep and was so mad bc I knew I was about to embark on a life of sleeplessness. I love some sleep too. Well, the story kind of ends there because we know that he came on the 22nd. I guess there is a little more to the story…
I went into labor during lunch at California Pizza Kitchen but continued to eat and finish off my sweet tea between my 5 minute contractions. We circled the NP mall parking lot waiting to hear back from the dr about going to the hospital. Then at the hospital Tyler thought I was going to beat up the 5 foot tall nurse that asked me if I could hold on a few minutes while they cleared a room when I was clearly already in transition. I am, however, so thankful to have had a good delivery. What an amazing process of pregnancy to birth that God created.
It really was a fun time and I would do every bit of it again for the sweet baby boy that God has given us!

The turn around
We turned Nate around in his car seat this week. He is definitely past the weight limit and his feet were propped up on the back seat. We were just waiting for him to be one (or close to it). I think he likes his new view. Well, I like to think he likes his new view. He doesn’t really love riding in the car right now so any new distraction is great.
7 years! or is it 8?
Tyler and I have been married 7 years! It has flown by and just gets better and better. How amazing to be married to your best friend (best boyfriend that is). A few weeks ago we were talking about celebrating our anniversary and Tyler said, “I can’t believe that we have been married 8 years.” I just agreed with him not even thinking until my Mom said, “Hasn’t it been 7 years?” Good thing Mom is keeping count!
In 7 years we have moved 4 times, bought three cars, been out of the country 5 times (not always together:), and had one amazing baby boy!
Babe- I love every day with you!
Really leaving
Okay. I am really leaving work this time. I went part time in May which was a nice two days a week but in two days I will officially be home full time. Nice! I think it will still be an adjustment to being home everyday even from just two days a week at work. I will miss the people I work with but of course will see them all the time bc it is my church home but I will REALLY miss my computer! What will I do while Nate is napping? How do I function without a computer? No facebook or blog during the day?! No email? No online shopping? It is probably a good test for me. It might test our marriage too when I want to use Tyler’s computer at night:)
Goodbye MacBook!
The mower
This mower provides hours (that is cumulative and not consistent hours) of entertainment. Nate does laps around the house but more recently likes to just pull it behind him and not push it. The noise of the mower doesn’t usually bother me but I like this new approach bc it doesn’t make sound when it is going backwards. Very smart.
