On the move…
Nate is trying so hard to crawl. He can get on his knees and then doesn’t know where to go so he rocks back and forth. Then he goes back to just scooting backwards. I think he is going to skip walking and go straight to running!
Random
My friend Shae tagged me to write 10 random things about myself. So here goes…
1. I love Barbie. I don’t have any explanation. I just do and still have all my old Barbies packed up in our attic along with some houses, cars (the corvette is one of course), boxes of clothes, motor home, and pool.
2. I used to be flight attendant and loved it but now I am a little afraid of flying. Maybe I know too much now.
3. My nickname from college is Booty. Yep. I still answer to it.
4. I met and shook hands with President George W. Bush.
5. My foot got run over by Dave Justice’s convertible in the Braves World Series Parade. Not even a broken bone:)
6. I have eaten at the northern most Denny’s in the world in North Pole, Alaska. It was still nasty!
7. My grandfather (my Dad’s Dad) lived to be 104 years old and was born in 1882.
8. I thoroughly enjoy a sweet tea everyday.
9. I like to let my food settle when I am out to eat. Sometimes that means sitting there for an hour just soaking in the atmosphere/company and letting it settle:) There is an art to this.
10. I love art and art history. I enjoy spending an afternoon at a museum.
6 months!
Nater Tot is 6 months! He is so much fun! To celebrate the 6th month of his life he got a good ol’ ear infection. Number three for anyone that is counting. He starts playing so hard though that I think he forgets that he doesn’t feel good. So here are my 6 favorite things about him…
1. His smile. The dimples work me over every time.
2. His laugh. It is a squeaky belly laugh that is contagious.
3. His blue eyes. Where did they come from?
4. How he rubs the back of your neck when you hold him. He is going to be a ladies man:) I think he is doing it in this picture.
5. How excited he gets when you walk in the room. He acts like he hasn’t seen you in days.
6. How much he has changed our life! What did we do before he came along. Well, we slept a lot more but who needs sleep?
Sweet serenade
This is Nate’s sweet friend at “school” that likes to serenade him everyday. She sings to him when he is fussy, when he is getting his diaper changed, when we are going home, or just when he is playing on the floor. Sometimes the songs are made up originals and sometimes they are classics. One thing for sure is that they are always entertaining. He just loves it! She said the other day,”Baby Nate. When you get big I will still be your friend, right?” There is usually a little more dramatic interpretation but I think the camera caused a little distraction:)
Chopped!
Well, it has been makeover week here at our house. First Tyler’s haircut and now me. If Nate had any hair to cut he would probably be next. I think we both got tired of all of our hair. This isn’t the best picture but you get the idea. I was inspired by Katie Holmes. Not saying I look like her…just inspired. Not sure that I love it but… hair always grows, right?
My two valentines!
Here are my two loves:) The hilarity of it all is that it looks like there is a heart in lights in the background. Not planned of course but marvelous. I couldn’t plan a better glamour shot if I tried.
Oh… the day of love didn’t end their my friends. We had an incredibly romantic dinner at Five Guys:) We made sure that we got their early enough to beat the crowd. I know it looks like we were fighting for a table.
Now that is a meal to make you feel skinny!
Welcome to Moes!
I am a Moe’s lover! I am not really sure what I ate before there was Moe’s. Maybe just Chickfila and cereal. Well, McAlister’s and Jason’s Deli when I lived close to one but I basically eat Moe’s about three times a week. Okay. Sometimes more. I have recently realized that maybe we go too much. Here are the reasons why…
1. For one week in the checkbook there were like 6 Moe’s transactions between the two of us. The only other transactions that week were for gas.
2. They know our names. This is also kind of nice. Our own little Cheers.
3. The other night I went by myself (with Nate). There was no one in the restaurant. Alright, it was 4:45 and I was hungry for dinner. Anyway, when I walked in the guys behind the counter already had my soft shell taco in the steamer and said “Light on the guacamole or regular?”. Then I realized that Tyler’s quesadilla was already on the grill. I felt bad when I had to tell them that I was by myself. They saw me coming in and wanted to have it ready for me bc they thought I was taking it to go. Now that is customer service!
What am I thinking that I go too much? I love it and just had it for lunch two days in a row!! Maybe I just need to own stock so I can pay myself back.
Hiatus
I took a little in-town hiatus last week which was soooo nice! However, I didn’t have my computer so I have been an absentee blogger.
Tyler was out of town so Nate and I (Beasley too) made plans for the week. We had a slumber party with Shae one night (which Nate enjoyed but it was good girl time for me) and then went to my parents’. We played a lot and had some good walks in the nice weather. It was all around relaxing. A fun few days even though we missed Tyler!
So I like to narrate for Nate. I am the only one who understands him of course since I am his mother. Anyway, he was taking a bath in the sink and was kind of confused. He is saying, “Nanmommy. You know this is a sink, right?”
I don’t know who was more entertained!
Who me?
This is Nate’s face after he pees in the tub. It always happens right after I put him in the water. Such a stinker!
