Zoo
Today was our first trip to the zoo with Nate. We met up with our friends the Hills and their little boy Hudson. Although it was in the 90s today it wasn’t unbearable. We even had a picnic in the shade before heading home. Nate had the best time making animal noises as he pointed them out. It was fun day!
I’m not pale. Stacy is just in the shade:)

Tyler’s Bday
Tyler has been celebrating his birthday for like three weeks now! I have taught him well. It has been a fun three weeks and he deserves to be celebrated. He is 33! When did we get into our thirties? Some times I swear that we still should be in our twenties. Not that I am wishing to go back I just want to enjoy it and not have it pass so quickly.
We had a fun birthday dinner at a new restaurant and had the whole little balcony to ourselves (and the Shoves:). Yes it was 90 degrees outside but we were in the shade and the fan was on full blast and I love eating outside. It was like a little private party.
Happy Birthday Babe (again)!

Uprise!
That means “surprise” in Nate language! I told him that there was a surprise in the backyard for him after breakfast so he inhaled his oatmeal. We put on his Crocs and ran outside still in our pjs. He was so excited and was soaked bc it was 8:15am and the thing was covered in dew!
I should have gotten pictures of Tyler finishing it up in the dark last night.

Thanks Nanmommy and Nandaddy!
Nate’s makeover
We were at my parent’s this weekend and my Dad was determined to have Nate’s hair cut. It was getting a little long and poor thing had a heat rash on his neck from all his hair so I agreed. It was cute and shaggy though and will grow back:) Anyway… Dad took us to his barber at first and thank goodness the lady wasn’t there. I think Nate would have cried if we walked in there. Then the next day we went to the kids’ hair place and Nate was so excited. He sat so still and just drove his police car. The stylist kept telling him how handsome he was so he just kept smiling.
BEFORE…

DURING…
AFTER… and trying out the airplane before we left.

Time flies!
I have been reminded that I haven’t made a post since Easter. Why you ask? Well, I just get consumed by Facebook and don’t remember to make a post. I know I put pictures on fb but there are some friends and family that aren’t on there and want to see a little more info. There are also friend (ie- Molly) that are on fb book but just like to look at the blog too which is fun.
So since Easter we have been to the beach and have just been almost constantly outside. If Nate had his way he would go straight outside the minute he wakes up (sometimes at 6:30 even with blackout curtains) and would stay out there all day! He wants to play “bolf”, “ball”, or “pool”. I have loved the warm weather and realized how much the he cold was wearing on me.
Visit with Caia when Amy was in town… Don’t be surprised but we went to Moes.

The morning reveal of his new Thomas table… he didn’t even want to eat breakfast.

Our friend across the street that is gone for the summer. We are missing her:)

The beach. We went so early in the summer that it makes me ready to go back.

Easter!
What a great weekend! We had an indoor easter egg hunt at our friends house bc of the nasty weather on Friday then went to the Good Friday service that night. It is my favorite service of the year. I was sitting on the aisle and looked over at a little boy that was in the aisle in his wheelchair. I think he is about 7 years old and has cerebal palsy. I don’t know his family but see them around church. During worship his Mom picked him up out of his chair and just held him and sang to him. I just cried as I watched her hold his weak little body and love on him. It was such a powerful moment to think about God holding his Son’s broken body like that after the cross. It made me want to hold my own baby right at that moment. Thank you God for your sacrifice.
Here are some of our Easter day pictures in the beautiful weather. Thank goodness the rain stopped! He is sooooo on the move that there was no stopping and posing for any pictures.

Buddies
Nate and I had a fun afternoon the other day with our friends Mack and Kimberly. The boys were born on the same day, maybe an hour or so apart, and just a few doors down in the same hospital. Kimberly and I are friends from college and joked about them being born on the same day while we were pregnant. It happened and now we always laugh about it in disbelief. It is a fun little bond for us and our boys as we get to watch them grow.

Hold the phone!
The phone is our new obsession these days. Well, golf (aka- bolf) and guitar are also way up there. However…a phone is pure entertainment. Nate doesn’t discriminate against any phone and loves everything from the iphone (of course) to just the regular old cordless.
Not sure where he would have picked this up but he really likes to just walk around the house or sit in his car talking to “Nama” (nanmommy).

Thirtysomething…
It has been a good birthday weekend. Good food, family, and lots of greetings from sweet friends. Tyler put together a fun surprise for me that took a lot of time and thought. What a thoughtful husband:) I love him.
